When we had stripped it to nothing I decided to get the frame powder coated at COTECH in Carnoustie, they did a great job at a great price. Once this had been done it was a case of rebuilding, however every thing on the bike needed to be overhauled or renewed. First the forks, now everyone I have ever known street fighter a Bandit has installed upside downies, these are great but i like the original look of the Bandit so i went for the OHLINS Springs and a re valve, I also sent the stanchions for a re-chrome. These came back in better condition than the originals. Next it was time for the engine, It has had a hard life so I decided to give it an overhaul and a wee tune up. I kept the standard bore but went for GSXR1100 cams, 5° Ignition advancer, Stage III Dyno jet kit and a Full race Acraprovic Titanium full race system. The engine casings where boring so my very old and best friend Ron made me a couple of one offs. I installed LED lights in to the casings, to add that Trick detail. Once the engine was re-built, it was then time to think about wiring, this is not my strong point so Bill who is the excellent at this wired the bike for me to my specs, which meant getting rid of the side stand cut out, the gear cut out, and clutch cut out. These are all the wee troublesome parts of the bike I can do with out. After.......
